Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering

Faculty of Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering was established in 1985 in the Educational and Research Complex of the Iran Ministry of Energy with the title of “Water Engineering Group” to provide specialized and short-term training courses. 
In 2004, with the establishment of Power and Water University of Technology (PWUT) or Shahid Abbaspour University, Faculty of Water Engineering was formed with four educational groups of Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Water and Wastewater Engineering and Earthquake Engineering. After the incorporating of PWUT to Shahid Beheshti University in 2013 and the expansion of educational and research fields, Faculty of Water Engineering was renamed to the Faculty of Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering (FCWEE.)
FCWEE of Shahid Beheshti University has endeavored to play an effective role in developing new technologies and providing scientific and industrial needs of the country, creating a lively and efficient scientific environment, meaningful development and launching of new educational trends and training of professional, committed, creative, innovative and entrepreneurial human beings. 
In this regard, the FCWEE has acted as a reliable reference to meet national and international scientific educational and research needs by conducting applied research and meaningful interaction with the domestic and foreign scientific communities in the form of inter-university collaborations. 
This faculty has a brilliant and distinguished background in the education of specialized personnel and the effective presence of civil engineering graduates in various sectors of the country's industry. 
To continue in this direction, the FCWEE seeks to establish and promote its position in the production, dissemination and development of indigenous sciences and technologies, innovative solutions, the commercialization of advanced developing technologies and the promotion of the culture and values of society by improving the quality of education and its convergence with research, development of faculty members, updating the content of courses, empowering students leading to their maximum participation in educational and research programs, providing educational and consulting services to industry, creating and growing knowledge-based companies, directing research to solve the country's problems with the approach of securing national interests and working closely with industry.

Our Mission:

The Mission of the Faculty of Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering is to prepare our graduates for creative and effective leadership in engineering practice, education, research, outreach and service in support of our nation’s engineering infrastructure and economic development, with emphasis on responding to global changes in society and the environment. This faculty is devoted to the advancement of knowledge and education of students in areas that contribute to or prosper in an environment of science and technology.

The vision of the Faculty of Civil, Water and Environmental Engineering is to strengthen our position among the Premier academic programs in civil and Environmental Engineering in Iran and other countries, Excelling in teaching, research and professional service. The faculty will provide educational research programs of the highest quality in civil and Environmental Engineering. It will also support a diverse community of faculty, staff and students in a dynamic environment that fosters the development and professional achievements of each individual and success of the faculty as a whole.
